|Life Science Research- Technical Sales Person
This is a direct sales position with responsibility for sales quota in a defined sales territory. The position will be based out of Calgary, AB; however, the successful candidate will be responsible for covering all of Western Canada (BC-MB) by supporting the existing Technical Sales Person who is based in Vancouver, BC.
Education College or university degree in a relevant science field such as Molecular Biology,
Genetics, or Biochemistry.
Experience or theoretical knowledge of applications used in Molecular Biology is required. Must be able to explain the following molecular techniques/applications:
o PCR, gel electrophoresis, qPCR, mutagenesis, cloning, DNA microarrays, Western Blots, and Next Generation Sequencing
Experience in the lab environment would be an asset, more specifically, hands on experience with PCR, qPCR, DNA microarrays, and Next Generation Sequencing would be beneficial Should possess very good communication skills (spoken and written)
Ability to multi-task and to be very organized is essential Must be able to work in a team environment
Preparing sales quotations ␣ both budgetary and formal Preparing bid proposals in conjunction with Inside Sales people and Sales Specialists Be a strong proponent of a consultative selling technique Updating and keeping current CRM Assist with service contract sales and help to maintain a service contract sales funnel for the assigned territory Keeping your service personnel and administrative personnel updated with information pertinent to them completing their roles Developing knowledge of a sales territory that would include contact/customer organization, budget cycle, funding sources, applications, etc. Developing a sales coverage plan that would detail how you plan to cover the assigned sales territory to achieve the assigned sales quota Work with other Technical Sales Person and/or Sales Specialists to achieve common sales quotas Work with the Inside Sales Person to ensure optimization of your selling time
Keeping current with new products, new applications and developing new customers Gathering and/or creating technical information for presentation to customers Finding answers to technical questions about instrumentation from customers Preparing sales presentation materials and giving presentations
Organize and implement product shows and seminars Participate and provide feedback in monthly sales forecast meetings Participating in sales training ␣ both sales and product ␣ when and where necessary. Participate in outbound marketing activities as necessary Assist with and design marketing tools as necessary Responsible to submit all required forms (ie. expenses, forecasts, etc.) within the specified time windows
This position will be located in the Calgary office. Frequent overnight travel (30%) may be required.

Target compensation is defined as the sum of the base pay + commissions earned for 100% quota performance of all assigned quotas.
