Another NANUC Workshop Series Success!!
The 2003 NANUC NMRPipe workshop was held on the 15 and 16 of August at the Telus Centre for Professional Development on the University of Alberta campus. Frank Delaglio from the NIH is the creator of NMRPipe and was the featured speaker at the two-day event.
Frank Delaglio takes time to explain concepts in detail to participants during a discussion session.
Frank's work continues even during the breaks.

The NANUC workshop encourages user participation.
Ryan McKay of NANUC kicked off Friday morning's session with a new user's seminar. Frank followed with a slide presentation of an overview of NMRPipe. The morning session finished with a hands-on demo of the installation, configuration and general operation of NMRPipe.
Each of the participants was able to follow along on their own computer in the Telus Centre's experiential lab and many thought to bring along their own data for analysis. After lunch, Frank continued with the nuts and bolts of NMRPipe and the Friday's session ended with a presentation of PJNMR by Brian Sykes, director of NANUC.
Friday evening, a number of the participants joined with Frank and the organizing committee at a local Edmonton restaurant for an enjoyable meal and discussion before heading out to the local theatre festival or other extracurricular activities.
Saturday morning kicked off with a hot breakfast followed by a slide presentation of the rest of the NMRPipe suite of programs. A demonstration of the programs consumed the rest of the morning and early afternoon. The day ended with a presentation of Smartnotebook by Robert Boyko and a general discussion session.
Our feedback from the participants and presenters was overwhelmingly positive, praising the quality and quantity of information provided by Frank and the outstanding organization of the event.
NANUC thanks all of the participants for attending and a sends big thank-you to Frank Delaglio for all of his efforts to make the presentations clear and effective. Frank, we hope that your ceramics classes are more creative and enjoyable now that you have a NANUC workshop under your belt.
Stay tuned for next year's workshop.
